Update 3/17/24:No change at all. The irritation I had discussed was the tags on the inside getting placed funny while putting on. After figuring that out, the irritation feeling is gone. Still going strong a long time later.I use these for paintball primarily. They have absolutely brought back my play aggression. I previously was getting sore knees, and ultimately legs and lower back while playing that significantly slowed me down.Using in-pant hard knee pads just get ripped out, and pants with built in foam just didn't fit the bill. The over the pant knee pads (like military surplus) just suck, and the construction ones just literally aren't meant for movement.Someone recommended finding 'D30' rated knee pads, as they are impact rated. To explain this, these knee pads are NOT SOFT. They are not clouds. To be completely honest, the first time or two you will find them uncomfortable. But to be able to dive onto the ground, get to one knee, and shimmy around, and feel absolutely nothing through that ENTIRE process is just priceless. And after a few times wearing them, they feel normal now and you won't really notice them. These do not move around your leg. I have never had to readjust them. Playing in the heat, sweating like a pig. Playing in the pouring rain, just drenched dripping wet. Playing in the cold no issues. You pull them on to your bare skin under any layers, and they have really solid grippy rubber on the tops and bottoms that truly grip your skin (not in a pulling manner). They breath really well. I don't have any sweating issues with them directly. The backs of the knees are cut out to allow for bending without material bunch, but also let them breath.Over long days, like 6-7+ hours, they have gotten a little irritable at times. But I've never had any kind of rugburn or chafing from them, or over compression that hurt blood flow.I recommend these to nearly everybody. If not these specifically, then any 'D30' style knee pads specifically.Thank you for coming to my rambling TED talk lol.
