I had used a similar boot when on a glacier hike and wanted to have something for the winter. I went a size up, based on reviews (wore a 40 on the hike) and knowing I had used a "broken in boot".Returned the 39/7.5 as my wife toes bumped on the front of the boot. Trying the size 40 next and will review it for the fit.A great pair of boots. Scapa have gone one better with these boots. Highly recommended.These boots were great on flat trail. But I tried them out multiple times scrambling/hiking some smaller peaks in the Olympics, and my feet were bleeding by the way down every single time, no matter what socks/liners I tried. Had to take them back. (thanks to REI's year long return policy!) Maybe its just my feet.. who knows.
