Tech support was so helpful. I made a mistake by not finishing the registration. Which led to setting up fail.Thanks to tech support they walked me through. Remember to scroll all the way to the bottom during registration to submit. Do not become anxious to plug in , until it says so.So far, not too impressed with the fact that one of the sensors was broken. It wouldn't detect motion like the other three, and when we moved it, the tape tore up some of our old drywall. (Strong tape I guess but dang..) Even after moving it, it still wouldn't detect on its own. Good thing we have extras but if we lived in a big house, just one breaking would be super annoying ;/Unless you want to pay for the subscription, not worth it.We just wanted a alarm for when our young kids ventured outside with us knowing.We canceled the subscription, and lost access to the app and all tech support.Would not recommend.I have been on the lookout for a home security system for a couple of years now. We don't want to pay ADT prices but we want something I feel safe turning on when I'm away for work but my family is here. My home has Google Nest cams all around and a 90LBS German Shepherd who really wouldn't hurt a fly but a home security system was the last bit to give me peace of mind. I've been on an email list for Simplisafe the last year or so but it's always expensive with no good deals and looked cheap with a basic keypad and I just wanted something more.This is my first security alarm ever and it was a breeze to set up. and I know it works. Once after I set it for the night my wife later wanted to open up a window to hear the rain and the alarm went off. I darted over to the touchpad and disarmed it right away in less than 10 seconds I swear, but I got a text and phone call seconds later where the support center asked for the safe word and then they discontinued the alarm from their end.It was nice to know that if something were to happen, heaven forbid, that the authorities would have my details and signal right away. Cove has my thumbs up.I would give this product 0 stars if I could.. This is the most useless piece of equipment I have ever purchased! I wouldn't recommend this to my worst enemy! I purchased this for an elderly woman I know that had recently lost her husband.. I got everything installed per the manual and when I tried to complete the registration process I could not get it to accept my payment method. I called customer support who kept my on the line trying this and that for 30+ minutes, they even had me try to alter the monitoring address and billing address to get their system to accept payment, then had me call my bank saying it had to be them causing the error. I called my bank and was on hold for almost 45 minutes only to have them tell me the transaction wasn't even hitting their records. So ofc I called cove customer support again only to have them.give me the run around again for another 45+ minutes only to tell me they couldn't do anything and that they would call me on Monday to try and correct the issue. I told them no just give me the info I needed to return the product and they insisted they call me on Monday. So I said fine call me on Monday to give me instructions on how to return the product. They then called me back telling me they were able to activate the account and I needed to go to the control panel only to have me attempt the entire registration process again to no avail. So not only did they fail to help me but they bold face lied to me! If your looking for a home security system I would recommend bypassing these systems and just call an expert.I’m awful with technology, but I also didn’t like the expensive security systems we’d had, so I gave Cove a shot.The set up was actually quite easy; I was done within 45 minutes, and they’ve got idiot-proof videos and paper instructions that helped. And when I had a question, I called their number (which I also hate doing), and the person who helped was terrific.The system has been so easy to use I assumed I was doing something wrong, but it works every time we test it.I’ve only reviewed a handful of things on Amazon because most things aren’t extremely awesome or extremely sucky, so there’s not much to say. This has so far been extremely awesome.One quick negative, though...the package on Amazon doesn’t have as many sensors as you’ll probably need, so you’ll likely have to call them or go to the website to order. They’re super helpful and the new items came fast, but because this was my first time getting a DIY system, I didn’t know I’d need more sensors.Either way, it’s actually been legit, so unless you hate things that are easy and save you money, try it.As some one with extensive experience in the alarm industry I have truly seen it all. Spending money to protect your family and your home will be the best money you ever spend. You really cant put a price on the peace of mind that comes with owning an alarm. That being said there are certainly some that are better than others. Some companies will convince you to sign a long term contract and lock you in to paying a certain price each month and you only own the equipment after that time period is up. The great thing about cove is you own it from the beginning. Cove comes pre packaged and ready to be installed. It took me maybe 5-10 mins to set it all up. It is extremely easy. There are no contracts and no agreements. The touchscreen panel looks very nice in my living room and is extremely loud. Their monitoring service is quick and responsive. Customer service is nearly unbeatable. For the money you wont find a better alarm. If you are looking to protect your family I highly recommend this product.Even if you do not pay the monthly fee, you cannot use the features offline.
